It's Official!
Okay, bare with me, because this is rather emotional for me... Ryan just had his first day of school today! Oh, my! Okay, it's only preschool and it's only2 days a week but it was really emotional. He, of course, was like "Okay, see ya later, mom!" and I on the other hand had a hard time leaving his classroom. Sometimes he is so independent and carefree and other times he is so emotional and needy... thank God he is a boy and I won't have to worry about pms with him. Really, he is such a good little boy- we have been truly blessed with and by him. But it was really cute getting him all dressed for school and getting his things together... as we were walking out the door he stopped to pick a little pink flower for his teacher. He was so anxious to give it to her.

I really hope he does well. He tends to be more of a follower- I hope they can encourage some skills that will develop some leadership qualities in him. We'll see!

This weekend I am having a bunch of friends over for my 1st anual "clam chowder party"! It's my version of a clam bake... whatever that may be! It's kind of a goodbye summer party. We're going to have it on our back deck that has a great view of the beach and pier! We'll have lots of yummy appetizers (I would say hor 'd voires but I have no idea how to spell that), tropical themed drinks, clam chowder in bread bowls and then I have the cutest sand castle cake pan from Williams Sonoma and sea animal themed cookie cutters that I will use for dessert. I will make sure to take a picture or two to post after the party.

I had a great time up North visiting my family! I didn't get to spend as much time with my older sister, Amy, as I had hoped but she is a super busy mom to 3! If I had to pick a character that best describes her it would have to be the energizer bunny. She just keeps going and going and going and going and going... I have always wished I could have a tenth of her energy. We were able to go on a 7 or so mile walk- up and down huge hills! I was pretty sore a few days after... I stayed at my mom and dad's house where my little sister Annie, Jeff (hubby) and their baby Cole were staying until they moved into their house. I was able to spend a lot of time holding Cole and bonding with him in the morning while Annie was able to go back to sleep. I so want another baby!!!

Well, I just spoke to Annie and she wanted me to let you know (since you all probably read her blog and that is how you found me...) that she just got her internet today but for some reason is not able to get to any websites. I think she is having to call dell and find out what is up. She said she will post as soon as she can!

Bye for now- I am off to clean my house and some windows prepping for my party!

I am so excited to go visit my family again! It has been almost a whole month since I have been up there. I can't wait to hold my sweet baby nephew, Cole, again. Ryan has been talking nonstop about him. He picked out a little outfit for Cole and had to pack it in his own suitcase. He's thinking he is going to have Cole close his eyes and hold out his hands so he can present his little gift...
Well, I walked 20 miles this weekend! Training for my 60 mile Breast Cancer walk. Wow, I am sore in places I wouldn't think to be sore from just walking!
I gotta go but had to tell you about the mud pie I made this weekend! Ohhhh it was yummy! I lightly crushed a whole package of Oreo cookies and put 3/4 of it in a 2 1/2 qt. casserole bowl then spread a container of starbucks jave chip icecream then I layered the rest of the oreos and then put in crushed heath bits then topped it with a thin layer of statbuck coffee icecream and then hot fudge! OOOOOOHHHHHH, YUMM!

Now what do I do?

Okay, so now I am all signed up and I have no idea where to start. I know probably only my little sister will be reading this- "Hi, Annie!" (So why does my cursor not go down to the next line when I press enter?)

Ok, there it goes... So a little about me:
I am a stay at home mom to 2 beautiful little kids:

This is my baby girl Shelby holding her baby cousin for the 1st time... she is 21 mos.
And this is my sweet Ryan who will be 4 next month... oh, that went fast.

I have the most awesome hubby, Andy... not only is he the best looking dude around but he is my best friend, the best daddy and just the greatest guy all around. He loves us so much- we are lucky! Here's us:

We were able to get away to Cabo last March (sans kids). It was so nice to be able to do whatever we wanted whenever we wanted without worrying about the kiddos. We missed them lots and were ready to get back to them.

I enjoy being crafty. I love to scrapbook and make homemade cards using stamps and fun paper and embellishments. Here's a link to a site that I have some of my stuff uploaded to. I will probably talk a fair bit about these things in my blog. I love stamping and scrapping anything with polka dots and posies that's why I used it as my title.

I am currently training to do my 1st 3day Walk. I will be walking 20 miles a day for 3 days in a row raising money for the fight against breast cancer. I am doing this walk with my dear friend, Jen, who's mom lost her battle with breast cancer 6 years ago. I will keep you posted on my progress and training. I have to raise $2200 and walk lots to prepare. Last Saturday I walked 9 miles to Fashion Island (fortunately it was still early when I got there so I didn't go on a spending spree as a reward!).

Which brings me to my next addiction- makeup! Hi, my name is Sandy, and I am a lipgloss-aholic. For the most part I use Lipglass by Mac and Juicy Tubes by Lancome. A girl can never have too many lipglosses! I was flying back home on the day the new carryon rules were implemented... I had 4 lip glosses in my purse that they were going to make me throw away!!!!! GASP! So I ran to the nearest shop and bought an envie and mailed those bad boys home! I had no idea how much postage I needed but $3.90 got em home to me! What a relief. Hubby just rolled his eyes at me- he knew not to say anything. I also just got a new Mac blush, it's called Style- I love it!

Okay, I really should get back to life...Chow.
